What is renBTC?

renBTC is an ERC-20 token that represents Bitcoin on the Ethereum network via the Ren protocol. BTC is sent through the RenVM (Virtual Machine), which uses smart contracts on Ethereum and Hashed Time Lock Contacts (HTLCs) on Bitcoin to bridge funds between the two blockchains.
